James Strawbridge
— Chef, author and an expert in sustainable living
We’re very excited to be working with Cornish chef and author James Strawbridge, son of Dick Strawbridge (from C4’s Escape to the Chateau). A familiar face on TV, having presented shows including ITV1’s The Hungry Sailors alongside his father, as well as BBC2’s It’s Not Easy Being Green, James runs Strawbridge Kitchen, developing foods with Cornish Sea Salt, Ocean Fish, Davidstow Cheddar, Truffle Hunter and Yeo Valley, and has written numerous books on artisan food skills.
An expert in sustainable living, James also has a real passion for outdoor cooking – particularly over an open fire. His latest book, entitled The Artisan Kitchen, was published last month, and explains how to master traditional cooking and food preservation skills – including a large section on wood-fired cookery and smoked foods.
So often considered a summer accessory, home pizza ovens are actually a fantastic way to cook outdoors year round – as we head into autumn and winter with the pandemic ongoing, people can continue enjoying their outdoor spaces with friends and family, using their pizza ovens for both delicious food and also to keep cosy close to their warmth.
James has created a whole host of glorious autumnal recipes for Home Pizza Ovens that can be cooked in our wood-fired pizza ovens – not just pizzas, but also comfort dishes such as Truffle Mac N Cheese, Pumpkin Pie and Cassoulet. He will also be creating some festive recipes over the next few weeks. All recipes will be appearing one the site very soon but here’s the first, Cornish mushroom and grated chestnut pizza.
